Two rooms in our house are being converted into studio apartments so that we can earn a little income from the rooms that are now empty due to the children leaving home. This blog is about the process, what we had to think about in order to create two rooms ready for renting without breaking the bank.

A studio apartment suitable for renting needs to have the following things so that your potential renter will be content to stay with you:

  • A comfortable living room or living area
  • A separate bathroom
  • A kitchen or kitchenette
  • A bedroom or sleeping area

once you are able to provide these things in a studio apartment, then you are well on your way to creating a studio apartment on a budget.
